David Starr to make his 300th career start in Chicago

When David Starr starts the American Ethanol 225 at Chicagoland Speedway this Saturday he will be starting his 300thcareer NASCAR Truck Series race.  The driver of the No. 81 Zachry truck has many accomplishments during his 15 full seasons in the NASCAR Truck Series, but this one is special.

Starr, has been extraordinarily fortunate in his NASCAR Truck Series racing career.  In 299 starts he has won at four different tracks — Las Vegas, Martinsville, Gateway and Phoenix — has 47 top 5’s and 115 top 10s.  Over the 15-year career he has raced 45,801 laps and 52,147.3 miles.

This milestone puts Starr 5th on the all time career starts list for the Truck Series.

“This is a significant accomplishment.” Starr reflects, “I’m proud of what I do and I can’t believe I’ve reached 300 starts.  There have been times in my career that I was not sure what the plan was for the weekend but through the help of a lot of people and sponsors, I’ve made it here.”

“Ever since I was 3 years old going to the races with my dad I wanted to accomplish the dream I’m living today. I’m proud to be a part of the sport of NASCAR.  I’m also thankful for all of the team owners and team members who have helped me achieve this milestone.  I have a lot more racing left in me and I wouldn’t mind being at the top of the all time career starts list.”

What is next for Starr to accomplish? He wants another win, and then a few more.
