“It’s a bummer that we won’t be competing at Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend,” said Rohrbaugh who also competes in the ARCA Racing Series.
“Instead of racing on Friday night, we opted to invest the sponsorship dollars for this race and apply it towards next year which included acquiring another truck and engine.
“We were pleased with our on-track results this year, but as a team, we strive to do better, so we’ll work hard during the off-season to prepare and learn in hopes of a successful 2019 season.”
The Mooresville, N.C.-based team will open up their 2019 racing season by competing in both the ARCA Racing Series season-opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on Sat., Feb. 9, 2019, and the rebranded NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series opener also at Daytona, the following Friday night Feb. 15, 2019.
Added Rohrbaugh, “It will be double-duty from one of my favorite race tracks and skipping Homestead will allow us to focus on the ARCA car a little more for the open test at Daytona, while also begin preparing a brand-new truck for my superspeedway debut early next week.”
Rohrbaugh, 24, made his Truck Series debut this summer at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, qualifying 25th and finishing 16th. In his other series start at Texas Motor Speedway on Nov. 2, he finished 17th after qualifying 26th in the JAG Metals 350.
In 18 career ARCA starts, Rohrbaugh has a best finish of seventh at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway (July 2018). He has qualified a career-best fourth on four different occasions including his most recent ARCA race at Kansas Speedway (Oct. 2018).
