In Truck return, AM Racing to boost Texas-based campaign and recovery at Martinsville Speedway

In their NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) return, AM Racing has a mission to bring awareness to the state of Texas and their ongoing campaigns in Saturday afternoon’s Alpha Energy Solutions 200 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway.

With the heart and passion of AM Racing built around their founding origin of the Lone Star State, the team will take a no foolin’ approach to push insight about not only their ongoing Texas-based campaign, but recovery too.

On the hood of the team’s No. 22 Toyota Tundra will sport the GO TEXAN logo.

GO TEXAN represents Texas agri-business on state, national and international levels by building recognition with the GO TEXAN mark.

Along with its signature mark in the shape of Texas, GO TEXAN celebrates, promotes and supports the business savvy and plainspoken grit Texas agriculture is known throughout the world.

Whether it’s grown, sewn or served on a plate, more than 26 million Texans shop, travel and dine out in full support of Texas business and agriculture.

“I am a proud Texan and I’m proud to show it this weekend at Martinsville Speedway,” said Austin Wayne Self, a native of Austin, Tex. “The GO TEXAN program represents an opportunity for companies and corporations of all kinds to fall under one banner. Every time I take a trip home, I always try to shop or eat at places that boast about being Texan proud.”

“The GO TEXAN campaign is something unique and deserves to have as much attention as possible.”

On the quarter panels of their truck, AM Racing has donated the space to bring awareness to the STAR Fund.

The State of Texas Agriculture Relief Fund was created solely with monetary donations from private individuals and companies, including Farm Credit, Valero and McCoy’s Building Supply. STAR Fund money may be used to assist farmers and ranchers in rebuilding fences, restoring operations and paying for other agricultural disaster relief.

“As a Texan, we often depend on our farmers and ranchers,” said AM Racing team principal Tim Self. “Martinsville is an opportunity for AM Racing to show our support and bring further attentiveness to those agriculture producers in the Panhandle of Texas who have been recently affected by wildfires.”

“Every dollar counts as the fires have devastated many farming and ranching operations and caused massive loss of livestock and feed sources and as proud Texans we’re going to do our part to inform people of the STAR Fund and its purpose.”

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller expressed his gratitude to AM Racing for their efforts this weekend.

“We are so grateful to AM Racing and Austin Wayne Self for their promotion of the STAR Fund,” Commissioner Sid Miller said. “They’ve been the greatest partners to our marketing program and this is just another example of how dedicated AM Racing is to promoting Texas to a broader audience.”

As for Martinsville this weekend, Self looks to better his 15th place performance at the famous 0.526-mile paperclip from last April, especially on the heels of the 21-year-old’s career-best second place showing at Daytona International Speedway in February.

“I’m looking forward to going back to Martinsville this weekend,” added Austin Wayne Self. “Daytona was a great blessing for me and our AM Racing team and even though we didn’t go to Atlanta, our AM Racing team has worked tirelessly to make sure we can be as competitive as possible for 200 laps on Saturday afternoon.”

The Alpha Energy Solutions 250 (250 laps / 131.5 miles) is the third of 23 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races on the 2017 schedule. Practice begins on Fri., Mar. 31 from 1:00 p.m. – 1:55 p.m. A final practice session is set for 3:00 p.m. – 3:55 p.m. Qualifying is set for race day, Sat., Apr. 1 beginning at 3:00 p.m. The 32-truck field will take the green flag shortly after 3:00 p.m. with live coverage on FOX, the Motor Racing Network (Radio) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Satellite Radio, Channel 90).
