NCWTS: Timothy Peters Captures DC Solar 350K Pole

Timothy Peters captured the pole for Saturday’s DC Solar 350K at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Peters posted a 30.690, 175.953 mph. in his No. 17 Red Horse Racing Toyota. The series veteran enters the 1.5-mile oval looking to capture his 11th career victory in the series.

Peters last Camping World Truck Series victory came at Phoenix International Raceway last season. He holds one victory, five top five and six top 10 finishes through eight starts at Las Vegas.

Starting right beside Peters will be series veteran Matt Crafton. Crafton posted a 30.741, 175.661 mph. in his No. 88 Menards Toyota Tundra for ThorSport Racing. The veteran racer holds two victories, six top five and 12 top 10 finishes through 17 races in 2016.

Crafton has yet to win at the 1.5-mile oval out west. He holds six top five and eight top 10 finishes through 15 races there. His one and only pole came last season.

Daniel Hemric is one of the drivers to watch on Saturday as he led the first practice and round of qualifying. Hemric will start the DC Solar 350K in sixth and will look to capture his first career Camping World Truck Series victory. He posted a 30.795, 175.353 in the final round.

William Byron enters the weekend as the hottest Camping World Truck Series driver this season. Byron, the winner of last weekend’s race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, will start the DC Solar 350K in 10th. The young driver looks to capture his seventh victory in the series on Saturday.

There were no DNQ’s as 31 drivers appeared on the entry list.

There were no on-track incidents in the two rounds of single truck qualifying.
