Townley Set for Kentucky/New Hampshire Double Duty

On the heels of a successful weekend that saw him run up front all night with the leaders and contend for wins in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and ARCA races at Chicagoland Speedway, John Wes Townley heads to Kentucky Speedway and New Hampshire Motor Speedway this week for a unique two days of racing.

“We’re running the full NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule, but I made the decision about a week ago that I really want to run the ARCA race at Kentucky (on Friday night Sep. 23rd),” Townley said. “Our ARCA program is rock solid and we’re on the cusp of winning on a 1.5-mile track.

“I raced our Truck at Kentucky back in July and really like the new racing surface. Our Athenian Motorsports guys are burning the midnight oil, but we’re going to do the double-duty in Kentucky and New Hampshire this week.”

Fresh off a second-place finish in Thursday night’s ARCA race at Chicagoland Speedway, Townley will participate in the day-long ARCA test at the 1.5-mile speed-plant in Sparta, Ky. on Tuesday Townley is confident he and crew chief Kevin Reed will find the winning setup that will translate into victory on Friday night at Kentucky Speedway.

Following Friday’s ARCA race, Townley will fly directly to New Hampshire to qualify and race his No. 05 Zaxby’s/Jive Communications Chevrolet at the Magic Mile in Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event.

“Matt DiBenedetto has agreed to practice our Truck in New Hampshire on Friday,” Townley said. “He’s got a lot of laps on that race track. So, I’m confident we’ll have a good setup underneath me when I climb onboard Saturday morning.”
