BMR Returns to Pocono for NCWTS & Benefit Walk

Bill Martel Racing (BMR) is planning to compete at Pocono Raceway with both tires — and sneakers. Racing for the first time in 2016 — BMR chose the  home track for two reasons – to try to win the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) “Pocono Mountains 150” on July 30th – and lead a charity track walk .

This will be BMR’s fifth straight year at the “Tricky Triangle” in the Hanover Cold Storage / Finish Line Express Chevrolet Silverado – and the fifth track walk to benefit the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition. (PBCC)

With only a handful of Late Model races scheduled until Pocono — Lebanon County’s Kyle Martel is confident some short track time — will help keep him sharp.

“I love NASCAR racing and wish I could do more – but sponsorships are tough – so I’m just happy to race at any level. Short tracks are very competitive and a great way to sharpen skills. Our team finished a respectable Top 20 last year at Pocono –this year we want to improve;”  Commented Martel.

Shortly after the completion of the “Pocono Mountains 150”  Kyle Martel & BMR will lead fans in “Go Pink @ Pocono 5” – a benefit track walk for the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition.

“Last year we had over three-hundred walkers and everyone had a blast. We typically walk down to Turn One and back, stopping for pictures along the way,  it’s actually pretty far. I enjoy talking racing along the way with fans and our Pit Crew loves it too. We  thank  Pocono Raceway and NASCAR for making this unique fan opportunity possible;” concluded Martel.

Registration for “Go Pink @ Pocono 5” will take place at the Bill Martel Racing Tent located under the main Pocono Grandstand near the Start/Finish Line. Fans may register on July 29th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and then on July 30th from 8:00 a.m. to the conclusion of the “Pocono Mountains 150.”  The fee to walk is a $10.00 donation OR $20.00 which includes a commemorative tee shirt — while supplies last.
