Empire Racing Group Thrilled to Partner with Richard Petty Motorsports

Empire Racing Group (ERG) race team is excited to announce its new alliance with Richard Petty Motorsports for the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.  The partnership will bring the return of the iconic No. 43 back to the Truck Series and enhance the race team on the competition and marketing side.

“This is a very exciting partnership for our Empire Racing Group.  It’s amazing to bring the iconic No. 43 back to the Truck Series with our camp and align with Richard Petty – someone we all grew up watching race,” said Mike “Grumpy” Cheek, team crew chief.

“The technical alliance will give us a boost on the competition side with new equipment and data sharing and we are also planning to share marketing resources.”

The partnership goes beyond just the competition on the track as it serves to continue to foster the family-oriented team that has been created at ERG.

“We are a very family-oriented race team and have modeled Empire Racing Group around what Petty has built in this sport — a family atmosphere,” said Cheek.  “Our race team has not had employee turnover in the past three years.  It’s a great group of people and we treat each other as family.  It’s exciting to align with the creators of that race team atmosphere.”

Empire Racing Group team owner John Corr is excited to have the opportunity to continue to build his race team, which started in 2009, and develop talented drivers toward as they build their racing careers.

“We’ve had a Driver Development Program the past few years and have helped some great drivers gain experience on the track and be a solid stepping stone in their racing career,” said John Corr, Empire Racing Group team owner.  “This is our fourth year entering a Truck at Daytona Speedweeks and I can’t wait to see this No. 43 on the track!”

The alliance with Richard Petty Motorsports will also help to grow ERG’s driver development program within the NASCAR late model series and ARCA racing series that helps to further young talent in their racing careers.

The No. 43 will make its 2016 NASCAR Camping World Series debut in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.
