Ben Kennedy and the Florida Lottery Team Finish Fourth in Season Finale

Making his 50th NASCAR Camping World Series start and carrying the Florida Lottery on the No. 11 Toyota Tundra this weekend, Ben Kennedy started third and finished fourth in the 2015 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. In a one-day show at the southern Florida facility, Kennedy posted the ninth-fastest practice speed in the morning’s only session. Later that afternoon, the Daytona Beach, Florida native advanced to the second and final round of single-truck run qualifying to earn a third-place starting position for the final race of the season. Kennedy took the green flag under the lights and remained in the top-10 of the running order. As expected with the changing track conditions, Kennedy reported that he was a little loose on entry and exit. During routine pit stops on laps 48 and 63, crew chief Scott Zipadelli called for four tires, fuel, and track bar and air pressure adjustments to assist with the Tundra’s balance. The Florida Lottery team was able to successfully keep up with the track’s changes with Kennedy maintaining a spot in the top five. He came to pit road one final time while under the yellow flag on lap 84 for four tires and fuel. Restarting 11th due to varying team strategies, Kennedy powered to sixth in only one lap and continued to gain positions during the long green-flag run to take the checkered flag in fourth.

Ben Kennedy Quote:
“This was a great race to close out the 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season with. Our Florida Lottery Toyota Tundra was really fast and the guys did a great job on pit road. I’ve always liked racing here at Homestead (Miami Speedway). I had a ton of fun tonight and am really proud of these guys. Thanks to Florida Lottery for coming on board the No. 11 truck this weekend.”
