Matt Crafton captured the pole for Saturday’s Careers for Veteran’s 200 at the Michigan International Speedway. Crafton, driving the No. 88 Menards Toyota Tundra, posted a fast time and speed of 39.024 seconds, 184.502 mph. in the final round of qualifying. The 39-year old will start on the pole for the eighth time of his career.
Daniel Hemric will start right beside Crafton when the Careers for Veterans 200 gets underway. Hemric posted a time and speed of 39.166 seconds, 183.833 mph. in single truck qualifying. The second-place start will give Hemric his fifth top 10 start of the season.
Austin Dillon ended the final round of qualifying as the third fastest driver in the session. Dillon posted a time and speed of 39.249 seconds, 183.444 mph. in the final qualifying session. The North Carolina native has started inside the top 10 in each of his truck starts in 2015.
Driver standings leader Tyler Reddick will have some work to do when the green flag flies. Reddick will take the track in the 11th starting position on Friday afternoon. Teammate Ryan Blaney will also start alongside Reddick in 12th.
There were no incidents in the two rounds of single truck qualifying. Tim Viens is the only driver who will not make the race as 33 drivers showed up to qualify.
