Korbin Forrister Ready to Get Back to Racing

Following a two-week break in the schedule, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will return to competition for a midweek affair at the Kentucky Speedway. Korbin Forrister and the SS Green Light Racing have used the extra time away from the track to get the No. 08 Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery Chevrolet Silverado ready for Thursday night’s UNOH 255.

“The guys got everything finished and our trucks are back together in one piece,” said Forrister. “Iowa didn’t go quite like we wanted it to. We had to run the back-up truck there but it was good, really good. It was just as good as the primary was going to be, but the motor let go on us. Its just part of racing on a budget like we are.”

“Kentucky will be another new track for me. I’ve never been there or even seen the place,” Forrister continued. “They tell me the track is pretty rough. Charlotte is probably the roughest track I’ve ever been on, the guys say Kentucky is close to it. We should have a good set-up in the truck for it.”

The rookie driver from Georgia sits 14th in the NCWTS standings after nine of 23 races on the 2015 schedule. Korbin has four top-20 finishes including a season best 12th place run at the season opener in Daytona.

“We had a good holiday and I got to spend some time with my family over the break. I’m really looking forward to these next few races. We’re going to drive up to Kentucky, it’s really pretty close to my hometown about an hour north of Atlanta.”

“I really want to thank all the guys in the shop, Bobby Dotter and BJ McLeod for everything they do,” concluded the young driver. “I’m looking forward to getting more seat time and experience at the different tracks. Right now we’re just looking to complete all the laps at Kentucky and be there racing hard at the end.”

The UNOH is the 345th consecutive NCWTS start for the SS Green Light Racing team, a streak that dates back to 2001. There are 34 trucks on the entry list, which will prelude the Xfinity and Sprint Cup races on Friday and Saturday evenings.
