Martel Returns to Pocono for Truck Race & Charity Walk

Bill Martel Racing (BMR) is planning to burn up Pocono Raceway with both tires and sneakers — at summer’s hottest race. BMR has committed to racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) “Pocono Mountains 150” on August 1st – then walking the famed “Tricky Triangle” for charity.

Kyle Martel returns to Long Pond to give Central Pennsylvania fans the opportunity to see one of its own – compete against some of the best in NASCAR. Martel will drive the white BMR Chevrolet Silverado #59 sponsored in part by Hanover Cold Storage, Finish Line Express and Finish Line Transportation. This will be the team’s second race of 2015.

“It’s always special to return to Pocono — I cut my teeth here in the ARCA Racing Series and I look forward to seeing the awesome fans. This will be our 6th start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and winning would be monumental. I like the track and know it well – but we will need to perform flawlessly to win or finish respectively.” commented NASCAR Driver Kyle Martel.

Following the ARCA Racing Series, Presented by Menards, “ModSpace 125”, Kyle Martel and team will lead walkers in “Go Pink @ Pocono 4” – a benefit track walk for the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition.

“This will be our fourth Go Pink track walk which is great! It’s a rare opportunity to walk and take pictures on a NASCAR track — while raising money for a great cause. It’s rewarding for me to be able to give back — and have some fun with the fans. I sincerely thank Pocono Raceway and NASCAR for giving us all this opportunity.” Concluded Martel.

“It’s not often you can watch a truck fly 190+ mph down the longest front stretch in NASCAR — then walk and talk about it with the driver afterwards. Then you turn around and see hundreds of pink shirts spread out across the track — walking with the same purpose — its at that moment you realize just how great NASCAR fans really are.” commented Rob Ziemba, Team PR.

Fans interested in “Go Pink @ Pocono 4” must pre-register at the Bill Martel Racing Tent located at the Start/Finish Line under the Main Grandstand on Friday, July 31st from NOON to 3:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 1st from 8:00 a.m. until walk. The donation to walk is $10.00 per person & $5.00 for kids 2 to 8. (under 2 free!) A $20.00 donation includes the walk and commemorative tee-shirt, while supplies last. All walkers must sign a waiver and no pets
