Kyle Larson NCWTS Preview: Eldora Speedway

Seeking Redemption…Returning to his dirt-racing roots, Kyle Larson will make his second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start at the historic Rossburg, Ohio track: Eldora Speedway. In last year’s inaugural event, Larson and his Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) team finished in the runner-up spot after a dramatic last-lap battle. This time around, Larson and his No. 32 GLAD Chevrolet won’t go down without a fight.

No Stranger to Dirt…Hitting the sprint car circuit at age 14, Larson took the dirt world by storm. After winning the World of Outlaw Spring Car Gold Cup at age 15, Larson went on to sweep the Belleville Midget Nationals. At age 19, Larson became one of just two drivers to sweep the USAC 4-Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway with three wins in one night. The 21-year old has a total of four wins at Eldora, and on Wednesday, he’s hoping to make it five.

This Week’s Silverado…Crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. and the No. 32 TSM team will unload TSM-016 this week at Eldora. Larson drove this chassis in last year’s inaugural event and finished just short of the win.

Get GLAD…This weekend in Eldora, Larson and The Glad Products Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Clorox Company, hope to trash the competition and bag a win. Clorox markets some of the most trusted and recognized brand names, with nearly 90 percent of the company’s brands holding the No. 1 or No. 2 market share positions in their categories. Clorox also stays true to corporate responsibility, and last year, The Clorox Company Foundation awarded $4.1 million in cash grants while making product donations valued at nearly $10 million. Live coverage of the 1-800-CarCash Mudsummer Classic begins on Wednesday, July 23 with the heat races at 7:00 p.m. EDT, followed by the main event at 8:30 p.m. EDT on FOX Sports 1. Kyle Larson on Racing at Eldora Speedway

“I’m really pumped to get back on dirt this week. Last year was a lot of fun and we really should’ve won; so this year, I’m more excited than ever to get it done. My Turner Scott Motorsports team and I did some testing a few weeks ago and I feel really good about our chances to win this thing. With Hillman’s experience in the Truck Series and my experience in dirt racing, I think we’ve got a good combination. Dirt racing is obviously a huge passion of mine; getting dirty, sweating and having mud all over my face is just in my blood. I’ve had some good times at Eldora in a sprint car and it would be cool to get a win here in a truck.”
