NCWTS: Kentucky Speedway Preview

This weekend the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will head to the Kentucky Speedway to run the UNOH 225 at the 1.5-mile oval. The race Thursday will mark the eighth stop on the series tour after taking last weekend off.

The entry list includes a total of 32 drivers who will try to hold off Kyle Busch to score the victory. A few notables and fresh faces include: Ryan Ellis, J.J. Yeley, Jimmy Weller, Brad Keselowski, Austin Dillon, Max Gresham, Kyle Busch, Adam Edwards, Caleb Holman and Corey Lajoie.

Kyle Busch will try and go six in a row Thursday at the Kentucky Speedway as a personal best for him. Twice in the past, Busch has won five NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races in a row, but has never been able to get the sixth. Busch hopes to add on to his 134 wins total by racing in all three races at Kentucky this weekend.

So far throughout the 2014 season it has been all about Toyota in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The manufacture, who joined the sport at the beginning of 2007, has captured all wins in the first seven races with Kyle Busch, Matt Crafton and Darrell Wallace Jr. The last eight seasons Toyota has won the manufactures championship six times and currently has a steady lead heading into the eighth race of the year.

Ron Hornaday Jr. is certainly the favorite going into the race weekend as four of his 51 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victories has come at the 1.5-mile oval. There is only one other track that the 56-year-old has four wins at and that would be Lucas Oil Raceway Park. A win on Thursday would put Kentucky on the top of his list. He goes into the race with eleven starts, three wins, three top-five and six top-10 finishes since 2005 at Kentucky. He holds an average finish there of 12.1.

You can catch the action at 7:30 p.m. Et, live on FOX Sports 1. The Motor Racing Network will provide the live radio broadcast of the UNOH 225. Ty Dillon, who will compete in Friday night’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race, is the defending race winner.
