Gateway Motorsports Park will make a return to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series tonight. Many fans, whether they watching at home or up on the grandstands, are certainly in for a great treat.
Curtis Francois, from the St. Louis area, purchased the Gateway Motorsports Park because he, himself, is a die-hard motorsports fan and wanted to bring back a great facility that went under with no fault of itself. He is excited about giving the great facility the energy, finacing and care that the place deserves.
One of the things fans will notice when coming to Gateway tonight is the improved restrooms, the track surface, and so each of these will provide the fans with a fantastic family-friendly expirence at the 1.25-mile oval. Also one of the things fans and even the drivers will notice, is how much the track really cares about the race is the nicely painted walls around the track.
For right now, Francios is not fucusing on bringing back the Nationwide Series, and is just purly focusing on this weekend’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race tonight, but will possibly look into it. He also said that it’s going to take a couple of years before the Camping World Truck Series will make a impact around the community. Besides the top-three NASCAR national touring series, one of the things the track is looking for is the racing series that provides fans with great side-by-side action. One of many examples of this is the USAC Silver Crown Series that was ran here earlier today.
The race track will offer a couple of promotions this weekend to the race fans. One of these is a four-pack of tickets for $100.00, which is a good way to spend the day hopefully with their fathers. Another importance of this weekend for the track is honoring the men and women who work on power lines because many people forget that they are also first responders to keeping the power on for everyone.
Hopefully this will be the first of many events at this great 1.25-mile oval for many years to come. Gateway is certainly unique with how big this track is, but races much like a short track, so it’s definately an interesting combination. Since the track has not saw much racing here since 2010, the track has really roughed up some, but still provides the unique character as it did here previously.
