All Roads Lead to Gateway…Tayler Malsam and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) will make their grand return to Gateway Motorsports Park this weekend for the Drivin’ For Linemen 200. This race will mark Malsam’s fourth of twelve scheduled NCWTS races for Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) this season in the No. 32 Outerwall Chevrolet. Unlike the majority of the field, Malsam competed at the St. Louis track in 2010, claiming a top-five finish, the best of his season, in his NCWTS track debut along with a top 20 in his NASCAR Nationwide Series start at the 1.25-mile oval.
This Week’s Silverado…Crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. and the No. 32 TSM team will unload a familiar chassis this weekend in St. Louis. TSM-231 was driven by Ben Rhodes in the second NCWTS race of the season at Martinsville Speedway and helped the young driver score a top-10 finish in his debut.
Let’s Go…This week at Gateway, the No. 32 will be sporting the colors of Outerwall for the fourth of 12 races this year. Previous Race Recap…Malsam made his third NCWTS start for TSM last Friday night at Texas Motor Speedway. During the weekend’s two practice sessions, the No. 32 team took a conservative approach based on Malsam’s experience along with crew chief Mike Hillman Jr.’s success at the track, and ranked 13th and 12th-fastest among the field. Malsam then hit the Texas-sized loop in the heat of the day for qualifying and claimed a top-15 starting position. While the 25-year-old showed pure talent on the racetrack once again, fuel strategy at the 1.5-mile track forced Malsam, along with several top contenders, to make a late-race pit stop that resulted in a 13th-place finish for the No. 32 Outerwall Chevrolet.

I competed there back in 2010 in both Trucks and Nationwide, so I think the familiarity with the track will help me out during the race. It’s definitely a tough track; the last time I was there, it was a wreck fest. Hopefully we can have a night of clean, fun short-track racing and end with our Outerwall Chevy up front.”
