German Quiroga Red Horse Racing: Texas Race Advance

This Week’s NET10 Wireless Toyota Tundra at Texas Motor Speedway… Germán Quiroga will be driving chassis 020 in the WinStar World Casino and Resort 400 at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, June 6. This Toyota Tundra is brand new to the Red Horse Racing stable and was built specifically for 1.5-mile race tracks.

Quiroga at Texas Motor Speedway… Quiroga has found much success at Texas Motor Speedway, where he earned his first career top-five finish in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, coming home third in the June 2013 event. The Mexico City native matched that result with a third-place finish at Pocono Raceway in August 2013.

Keeping the Top-10 Streak Alive… Quiroga remains the only driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series to have earned a top-10 finish in every race this season. His impressive streak puts him fourth in the Camping World Truck Series championship point standings, six points shy of first place. He is the first Mexican-born driver in history to be ranked in the top five in points in any of NASCAR’s top series.

Race Rewind: Dover Motor Speedway… The No. 77 NET10 Wireless Toyota Tundra started from the fourth position at Dover International Speedway, after qualifying was cancelled out due to rain. Quiroga battled loose-handling conditions throughout the day, but raced his way to a ninth-place finish after being caught a lap down to the leader and in the 19th position.

GERMÁN QUIROGA QUOTES:

On being six points out of first in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship point standings… “Last weekend at Dover (International Speedway) we were able to close the points gap a bit, now we’re only six points behind the leader. We plan to keep learning and working hard and to never lose sight of the big picture which is winning a championship.”

On heading to Texas Motor Speedway…“I really like Texas Motor Speedway; I think it’s one of the tracks where I’ve completed the most laps at. It’s one of the few tracks where we compete twice a year and we’ve done some testing there too, so I’ve been there five or six times already. I think this has really helped me feel comfortable racing there.”
