Continuing to find innovative ways to bring NASCAR’s passionate fanbase closer to the action, and following last season’s successful launch of “The Crew Challenge presented by Ford Racing,” NASCAR Champion Brad Keselowski announced today “The Crew Challenge Members Race.” Developed as a unique fan engagement element, “The Crew Challenge Members Race” is the latest addition to Keselowski’s award-winning website, BradRacing.com. This new fan-focused component also involves Keselowski’s championship-contending NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team, Brad Keselowski Racing (BKR).
Starting with this Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway, and for each of the remaining NCWTS races in 2014, two active participants in “The Crew Challenge” will have their names drawn at random to participate in “The Crew Challenge Members Race.” The Twitter handle for one of these two fans will appear on the No. 19 BKR Reese Towpower/Draw-Tite/Broken Bow Records Ford F-150 and the Twitter handle for the other fan will appear on the No. 29 BKR Cooper Standard Ford F-150 for that particular race. BKR will announce the lucky winners on the Thursday before each NCWTS race via the official @TeamBKR Twitter handle.
The fans’ Twitter handles will be featured on the B-post of the BKR Ford F-150s as part of a special decal. Then the race is on! Whichever BKR Ford F-150 finishes in front of the other, regardless of position, the fan whose Twitter handle appears on that particular BKR entry will receive a special prize package from Keselowski and BKR.
Launched in 2013 and growing in active users, “The Crew Challenge presented by Ford Racing” provides fans with a platform to help tell Keselowski’s story over the course of the NASCAR season, and, in the process, earn valuable prizes. Fans submit written, photographic, and/or video content that highlights their experience and perspective with Keselowski and the sport as a whole.
“‘The Crew Challenge Members Race’ is an extension of what we have already started, and a way to bring several of my passion points – from social media and my Truck team to the fans – together in a fun way,” said Keselowski. “The most important piece of this is the fans. We are fortunate to have the most loyal fans in sports, and any time we can do something special like this that highlights them in an active and visible way, I think is terrific. I am anxious to find out who will be riding with me for Friday night’s Truck race in Charlotte.”
