Cole Custer and Brandon Jones Will Run a Limited NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Schedule

Two of NASCAR’s up and coming youngsters will compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on a limited basis in 2014. Both announcements came on Monday. Cole Custer will drive for Haas Racing Development and Brandon Jones will drive for Turner Scott Motorsports.

Custer, who will turn 16 on January 23rd, will compete in nine Truck Series races in the No. 00 Chevrolet. The Haas Racing Development team will use Hendrick engines and Turner Scott Motorsports chassis.

His Truck Series debut will occur on March 29th at Martinsville Speedway.

During the 2013 season Custer, the son of Stewart-Haas Racing executive Joe Custer, became the youngest winner in NASCAR K&N Pro Series history by winning at combination East and West race at Iowa Speedway on August 2nd. He also piloted the No. 00 Ken Schrader Racing car to a victory at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on September 21st. Custer finished eighth in the K&N Pro Series East points in 2013.

Brandon Jones, who will turn 17 on February 18th, will run for Rookie of the Year in the K&N Pro Series East for Turner Scott Motorsports in 2014. He competed in six East Series races last season for the team scoring two top 10 finishes. He also competed in three Truck Series races for TSM in 2013 with a best finish of 19th at Martinsville.

In addition to running the East Series Jones will compete in select Truck Series races and also Late Model races for TSM.
