German Quiroga Red Horse Racing Texas Motor Speedway Team Advance

LET’S MAKE HISTORY, AGAIN: It was at Texas Motor Speedway in June when Red Horse Racing driver Germán Quiroga made NASCAR history. Quiroga finished third in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race which was the highest finishing position for a Mexican in a National division of NASCAR. The three-time Mexico Series champion has high expectations for himself as he finishes out the final three races in his first Truck Series season. Quiroga hopes to become the first Mexican to win in a National division of NASCAR – a feat he expects to achieve.

With two previous starts at the 1.5-mile quad oval, Quiroga is looking to once again put on a show in his No.77 OtterBox/NET10 Wireless Toyota Tundra. With a third-place finish earlier this season and tremendous speed out of his Red Horse Racing camp on the intermediate program, Quiroga will settle for nothing less than what he left with.

PERFECT COMBINATION: Germán Quiroga returns to Texas Motor Speedway with NET10 Wireless and OtterBox sharing primary sponsorship on his No. 77 Toyota Tundra. The combination made their debut at Talladega Superspeedway and Martinsville Speedway with a swapped scheme and will finish out at Phoenix International Raceway. It’s a perfect pairing with the no-contract cell phone leader, NET10 Wireless, featuring the Samsung Galaxy and the No. 1 selling phone case protector, OtterBox.

CHASSIS HISTORY: German Quiroga will unload Chassis No. 007 this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Previously, teammate Timothy Peters raced this chassis at Chicagoland Speedway. The intermediate chassis was also utilized earlier this season at Texas Motor Speedway. Peters earned a third-place starting position at Charlotte Motor Speedway with this chassis in May. Chassis No. 007 made its debut at Texas Motor Speedway last fall and collected a 10th-place finish.

REARVIEW MIRROR – MARTINSVILLE SPEEDWAY: Germán Quiroga came to Martinsville Speedway with some experience under his belt having qualified fifth in his debut at the 0.526-mile speedway in the spring. The driver of the No. 77 OtterBox/NET10 Wireless Toyota Tundra qualified in the sixth position. It was the restart on lap 150 where Quiroga switched lanes before the start-finish line and was penalized by NASCAR with a pass thru penalty on pit road. The No. 77 OtterBox/NET10 Wireless team gave the driver fresh tires, and Quiroga demonstrated his talent as a real wheelman, driving his way back from a lap down to finish seventh.

Germán Quiroga on Texas Motor Speedway:

What do you think your chances are for setting another record for a Hispanic in NASCAR at Texas?

“I think we have a very good setup for Texas and we are comfortable with our NET10 Wireless/OtterBox Toyota Tundra. We know where to adjust to make it faster with all of our notes. Texas is definitely a special track for me. I am close to my home country. I was very comfortable there earlier this season and we had good speed. So it’s always good to go back where you feel comfortable and fast. My goals of course are higher than the first time I was there so it’s not going to be easy.”

You said earlier this season that the race at Texas Motor Speedway was the highlight of your season. Does that still hold true?

“Yes I would say so. It’s good we are going back. It will be my third time there and we already tested there. We have a lot of good things for that race. We have to at least try to achieve what we did earlier this season.”
