NCWTS: Burton Earns Pole at Talladega

Jeb Burton captured the pole for tomorrow afternoon’s Fred’s 250 at the Talladega Superspeedway after posting a fast time of 54.353 seconds, 176.182 mph. This is his sixth career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series pole in 23 total starts. Tomorrow will mark the his 14th start in the top-10 this season. Jeb marks the eighth different driver at the 2.66-mile oval to capture the pole.

“My guys do a really good job for me and It’s really cool to have this sixth pole,” said Burton. “We’re fourth in points, and we got the next five races coming. I’m really excited for next week when we go back to one of my favorite race tracks that we should’ve won earlier in the year.”

Max Gresham found himself second on the chart when the qualifying session concluded with a fast lap of 54.403 seconds, 176.020 mph. Max will roll off in the top-10 for the fifth time this season in 2013. He was just 0.050 seconds off from the fastest time in qualifying.

Kyle Busch will start third after posting a lap of 54.437 seconds, 175.910 mph. Busch will start in the top-10 for his ninth time this season in nine attempts this year. It will also mark his second top-10 start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at the Talladega Superspeedway.

Points leader Matt Crafton will start in the 23rd spot tomorrow after running a lap of 55.519 seconds, 172.481 mph.

The two drivers that failed to qualify for the Fred’s 250 tomorrow are Danny Efland No. 50 and Jennifer Jo Cobb No. 10.
