Timothy Peters Red Horse Racing Texas Motor Speedway Team Advance

NO LIMITS: The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is back under the lights this Friday night at Texas Motor Speedway for the WinStar World Casino 400. The first visit to the track in the 2013 schedule is a race that is 50 miles longer than that of the fall race. Timothy Peters and his No. 17 Parts Plus Toyota Tundra team are ready to tackle the ‘Wild Asphalt Circus’ after having a successful test session back in April. Peters has 10 starts at the 1.5-mile quad oval including two top-10 finishes and is hopeful in improving his best finishing position with his Red Horse Racing team.

PARTS PLUS: At Texas Motor Speedway, Timothy Peters’ No. 17 Toyota Tundra will continue to proudly represent Parts Plus featuring their orange and red color paint scheme. The primary sponsorship has been activated throughout the first six races of the season. The Memphis-based warehouse distributor originated more than 56 years ago tracing back to a series of jobber programs. Since 2005, Parts Plus has been a member of the Automotive Distribution Network that has over 300 member distributors under five brand names and from over 400 separate warehouses across the United States, Mexico, Canada and Puerto Rico. CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 17 Parts Plus Toyota Tundra team will take Chassis No. 007 back to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend. Chassis No. 007 made its debut at TMS last fall and collected a 10th-place finish. Most recently, Peters earned a third-place starting position at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May.

MEET & GREET: Peters, along with teammates John Wes Townley and German Quiroga will join the other Truck Series drivers for an autograph session at Texas Motor Speedway outside of Turn 1 next to the Hospitality Village from 4:30-5:30pm on Friday, June 7th.

REARVIEW MIRROR – DOVER: Timothy Peters qualified 12th for the Lucas Oil 200 at Dover International Speedway. Trouble found the Parts Plus Toyota Tundra early but that was no halt for the No. 17 team. With direction from Butch Hylton, the team rallied to fix significant front fender damage early on and was battling in the top-10 in no time. Peters brought home a sixth-place finish that moved him up four positions in the point standings, currently 12th.

Timothy Peters on Texas Motor Speedway:

What are you most looking forward to heading to Texas after just having a two day test there?

“We really learned a lot about our Parts Plus Toyota Tundra during our two day test. We were able to practice at night which is when we race and that is definitely an added bonus. It’s really important to keep up with how the track changes, so to have a jump start on that – I’m pretty excited about the race.

You visit Texas twice during the Truck Series schedule. How is this race different than the fall?

“The temperature is definitely different between the June and November races plus the spring race is 50 miles longer. The driving style doesn’t change at all, you just have a few more laps to get your Tundra dialed in and tuned up for the drastic changes that typical arise at night.”
