Brad Keselowski won Saturday’s NASCAR Cup playoff race at Richmond Raceway, earning him a spot in the second round of the playoffs.

“Man, this thing was awesome,” Keselowski told NBCSN post-race.

Driver No. 2 led 192 of the 400 lap race, including the final 48 laps.

Keselowski said post-race that he hopes this id the car they use for the championship race at Phoenix later this year.

“We knew this was gonna be a really big pit strategy race, but we had the speed, we had the strategy. This team today did it all,” Keselowski told NBCSN post-race.

Rounding out the top five were Martin Truex Jr. in second, Joey Logano in third, Austin Dillion in fourth and Chase Elliott in fifth.

Kyle Busch, who before the race started failed pre-race inspection twice, finished sixth.

Completing the top ten were Kevin Harvick in seventh, Aric Almirola in eighth, Alex Bowman in ninth and Clint Bowyer in tenth.

Clint Bowyer, who finished tenth currently holds the final transfer spot to the second round of the playoffs. He ahead of William Byron by three points and ahead of Cole Custer by eight points. Matt DiBenedetto is 25 points below the cutoff and Ryan Blaney is 27 points below the cutoff.

Denny Hamlin secured a spot in the second round of the playoffs with his 12th place finish.

The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday Sept. 19th at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. This race will cut the playoff field from 16 drivers to 12 drivers.

Ben Rhodes won Sunday’s NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series race at Darlington Raceway.

Rhodes took the lead coming to the final lap and held off Derek Kraus to win Sunday’s truck race.

“That was such a tough win.” Rhodes told FS1 post-race.

For, Rhodes Sunday’s win marked his first of the season, snapping a 48-race winless streak.

Sheldon Creed, who looked to be on his way to a third win in the last five races chances ended when he gave up the race lead to pit before the overtime restart and would also be caught for speeding on pit road, ending his chances of a victory.

Rounding out the top five were Derek Kraus in second, Austin Hill in third, Grant Enfinger in fourth and Christian Eckes in fifth.

Notables:

Greg Biffle, who made his first truck series start since he last won at Texas Motor Speedway last year finished 19th.

2011 Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne finished 27th in his first truck series start and his first NASCAR race since 2018.

David Ragan, who made his first Truck series start since 2006, finished 22nd. Ragan suffered damage in an incident in which Matt Crafton made contact with Josh Reaume and Reaume hit Ragan’s truck.

Rounding out the top ten were Raphael Lessard in sixth, Todd Gilliland in seventh, Stewart Friesen in eighth, Timmy Hill in ninth and Brett Moffitt in tenth. 

The NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series will head to Richmond Raceway on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on FS1.

Sheldon Creed won Sunday’s NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series race at Gateway to win his third race of the season.

Driver No. 2 took the race lead from his GMS Racing teammate Sam Mayer on a restart with 13 laps to go in the final stage.

Sunday’s win gave Creed his second win as apart of the “Triple Truck Challenge,” giving Creed a $150,000 bonus.

“I want to start with apologizing to Gilliland,” Creed told FS1 post-race. “It’s so hard to pass here and I got the opportunity to get to his inside, just was really loose getting in and he was close to my door. They were having such a good day. Hate to do that to him. He owes me one. Hats off to my guys. Great adjustments all day, came from 17th. Had my work cut out for me.”

Gilliland, who won the first two stages of the race finished 22nd after he got into the Turn 2 wall after making contact with Sheldon Creed as they battled for the race lead with under 40 laps to go.

Rounding out the top five were Brett Moffitt in second, Austin Hill in third, Sam Mayer in fourth and Stewart Friesen in fifth.

Rounding out the top ten were Raphael Lessard in sixth, Zane Smith in seventh, Grant Enfinger in eighth, Ty Majeski in ninth and Tanner Gray in tenth.

Championship contender Johnny Sauter would have to leave the race before Lap 30 due to a mechanical problem. Rising start Chandler Smith finished 24th after he wrecked after making contact with Ben Rhodes on Lap 78.

The NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series will head to Darlington at 2 p.m. Eastern on Sept. 6th on FS1.

Justin Allgaier won Sunday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Dover to win his first Xfinity Series race of 2020, ending a 20-race winless streak.

Allgaier led 120 laps of the 200 lap race, including the remaining 50 laps.

For driver No. 7, it’s his sixth straight Dover race in which he’s finished third or better.

“These last 18 to 24 month have been crazy,” Allgaier told NBCSN post-race. “Just proud of these guys and the no give of attitude they’ve got. What a day. What a racecar. We were off a little bit in the beginning and Jason did a great job of getting us where we need to be at.”

Rounding out the top five were Austin Cindric in second, Ross Chastain in third, Noah Gragson in fourth and Noah Gragson in fifth.

Austin Cindric, who finished second has finished runner-up in the last seven races.

Rounding out the top ten were Riley Herbst in sixth, Jeb Burton in seventh, Justin Haley in eighth, Michael Annett in ninth and Chase Briscoe in tenth.

Jeb Burton, who finished seventh earned his third top 10 of the 2020 season with only six starts thus far.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series will race once again on Sunday as part of the doubleheader from Dover this weekend with coverage beginning at 1 p.m. Eastern on NBCSN.

For Sunday’s race, the top 15 finishers will be inverted. Brett Moffitt will start from the pole and Brandon Brown will start alongside in second.

Austin Cindric won Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at the Daytona International Speedway road course.

Driver No.22 passed Brandon Jones for the lead with five laps to go in the race and would hold command of the lead to win.

“I didn’t feel I drove my best today but we executed,” Cindric told NBCSN post-race.

For Cindric, this marks his fifth victory in the last six races. Cindric’s five total victories ties him with Chase Briscoe for the most thus far in the 2020 Xfinity Series season.

Rounding out the top five were Brandon Jones in second, Noah Gragson in third, AJ Allmendinger in fourth and Andy Lally in fifth.

Noah Gragson, who finished third earned his top 10 finish in all road course starts in the Xfinity Series.

After a restart with seven laps to go several drivers lost control of their car in Turn 1. Playoff contender Chase Briscoe was involved. He ran into the back of Allmendinger. That would end Briscoe’s race and he would finish 29th.

Rounding out the top ten were Jeremy Clements in sixth, Riley Herbst in seventh, Harrison Burton in eighth, Justin Allgaier in ninth and Myatt Snider in tenth.

Justin Allgaier, who finished ninth, had a post-race confrontation with AJ Allmendinger for spinning him out late in the race while Allgaier was running third at the time.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series will head to Dover on Saturday, August. 22 at 12:30 p.m. Eastern on NBCSN.

Kevin Harvick won Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway in overtime. Harvick beat Keselwoski in overtime to win the first of two Cup races at Michigan this weekend.

“The restarts were obviously a handful but our Busch Light Apple Ford Mustang was really fast today and we held on for the long run and would really go on the short run and did everything we needed it to do,” Harvick told NBCSN post-race.

Driver No. 4 led the remaining 14 laps and took the lead with 8 laps to go in the race after nearly making contact with Kyle Busch, who got loose and sent him up the turn 4 wall.

“I didn’t know if I hit him or not but I saw the video and didn’t touch him,” Harvick told NBCSN. “i must have packed a bunch of air on his left rear. I knew I needed to be right there. You have to take the chance when you have it and I needed that side draft down the front straightaway. I got within like an inch and it looked like on the video I didn’t know if I had just barley touched him but in the video I definitely didn’t touch him.”

Rounding out the top five were Brad Keselowski in second, Martin Truex Jr. in third, Ryan Blaney in fourth and Kyle Busch in fifth.

The late race restart was set up by a wreck involving Austin Dillion, Michael McDowell and Ryan Newman.

Rounding out the top ten were Denny Hamlin in sixth, Chase Elliott in seventh, Joey Logano in eighth, Bubba Wallace in ninth and Kurt Busch in tenth.

Bubba Wallace, who finished ninth earned his fourth top-10 this season, his most ever in a single season.

Brandon Jones won Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race in overtime at Kansas Speedway with a last lap pass on Austin Cindric to take the checkered flag.

“We’re never out of this thing that’s what I love about these guys,” Jones said post-race on NBCSN. “We keep our head in the game, we don’t get excited during these races. We continue to make changes. My feedback I think was pretty good. It’s been a long two days’ I feel exhausted and obviously the heat is big here. Looking forward to celebrating with these guys and it feels great to be back in victory lane.

Driver No. 18 broke Cindric’s three race win streak he had going and won his second race of the year. Cindric had previously dominated portions of the race, leading 131 laps and winning the first two stages of the race.

Rounding out the top five were Austin Cindric in second, Harrison Burton in third, Ryan Sieg in fourth and Ross Chastain in fifth.

Harrison Burton, who finished third had taken the lead with ten laps to go and looked like he was in route to victory until the caution came out with just six laps to go.

The leaders would pit except Sieg who stayed out. Cindric would win the race off pit road followed by Harrison Burton and Ross Chastain.

Sieg would stay in control of the lead when the race went back to green until the caution came out when Jesse Little spun in Turn 2, forcing a second attempt at NASCAR overtime.

Brandon Jones would restart seventh at the second attempt at overtime and take the lead, winning for the second time of the year.

Rounding out the top ten were Justin Haley in sixth, Daniel Hemric in seventh, Michael Annett in eighth, Riley Herbst in ninth and Justin Allgaier in tenth.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series will head into Road America on Saturday, August 8th at 12:00 p.m. Eastern on NBCSN.

Kyle Busch, who was originally declared the winner of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Texas Motor Speedway car failed post-race inspection. Busch’s car failed height measurements for the left rear. Austin Cindric, who crossed the finish line in second would be declared the winner following Busch’s disqualification.

Busch would be scored last in the 37 car field.

Joe Gibbs Racing has until 12 noon on Monday to appeal.

“No matter how it happens, it’s great to win,” Cindric said post-race. “Everyone has to play in the same sandbox.”

With his win on Saturday, Cindric has won three races in a row, with his sweep at last weekends Kentucky doubleheader.

“A win’s a win and it’s good for our team,” Cindric said post-race. “It’s good for momentum and it’s good for points.”

Rounding out the top five were Chase Briscoe in second, Justin Allgaier in third, Harrison Burton in fourth and Michael Annett in fifth.

Chase Briscoe, who finished second currently leads the NASCAR Xfinity Series points standings over race-winner Austin Cindric by 24 points.

Rounding out the top ten were Jeb Burton in sixth, Brandon Jones in seventh, Justin Haley in eighth, Ross Chastain in ninth and Brandon Brown in tenth.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series heads to Kansas Speedway next Saturday, July 25th in the running of the Kansas Lottery 250. Coverage begins at 5:00 p.m. Eastern on NBCSN.

Sheldon Creed won Saturday’s rain-shortened NASCAR Truck Series race at Kentucky Speedway.

Creed took the lead with 19 laps to go in Stage 2 and would go onto win his third stage victory of the season.

Following the completion of Stage 2, NASCAR brought the teams down pit road due to lightning in the area.

30 minutes after the race was stopped, the race would be called official and Sheldon Creed would be declared winner of the Buckle Up In Your Truck 225 at Kentucky Speedway. For Creed, this marks his first NASCAR Truck Series victory.

“This is an odd first win,” Creed said post-race to the media. “I always said I’d be good rather than have luck and everybody else has been, but today I’ll take the luck.”

Creed had two runner-up finishes last year at Eldora and Michigan prior to his first win on Saturday.

Rounding out the top five were Ben Rhodes in second, Matt Crafton in third, Johnny Sauter in fourth and Austin Hill in fifth.

Rounding out the top ten were Christian Eckes in sixth, Zane Smith in seventh, Derek Kraus in eighth, Tanner Gray in ninth and Todd Gilliand in tenth.

The NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series will head into Texas Motor Speedway in the running of the Vankor 350 on Saturday, July 18th at 8 p.m. Eastern on FS1.

Chase Briscoe won Saturday’s inaugural NASCAR Xfinity Series price on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. Briscoe survived a four-car battle for the win in the closing laps of Saturday’s race.

Driver No. 98 celebrated his victory on Saturday with his team by climbing the fence next to the yard of bricks, just as his team owner Tony Stewart used to do when he won.

“Everybody knows that I grew up and my hero in racing was Tony Stewart,” Briscoe said post-race. “To get to drive for him and watch him win the brickyard was always his signature thing and I just wanted to do it. Obviously, it is not the same prestige as winning on the oval but you still won at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.”

Briscoe won by outbreaking road course veteran Allmendinger into Turn 1 to take the lead with two laps to go. The top four cars would run two by two through Turns 1 and 2. Briscoe would keep his lead and pull away from Allmendinger and Cindric.

For Briscoe, this marks his fifth win this season in 13 races becoming only the second driver in Xfinity history to win as many races in the same time frame. Sam Are currently holds that record with six wins in the first 13 races of the season.

Rounding out the top five were Justin Haley in second, Noah Gragson in third, AJ Allmendinger in fourth and Austin Cindric in fifth.

Justin Haley’s runner-up finish is his best finish in six road course starts.

Rounding out the top ten were Ross Chastain in sixth, Justin Allgaier in seventh, Alex Labbe in eighth, Michael Annett in ninth and Preston Pardus in tenth.

Justin Allgaier, who finished seventh on Saturday will also be running in Sunday’s Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway after 7-time Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson texted positive for Covid-19.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series will head into Kentucky Speedway on Thursday, July 9th at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on FS1 in the running of the Shady Rays 200.
