NASCAR Drivers Ragan, Reutimann, McDowell, Lally and Hayward’s Brunelli Complete Test Session at Infineon

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers David Reutimann, David Ragan, Andy Lally and Michael McDowell, as well as West Series driver and Hayward native Jessica Brunelli, completed a one-day test session at Infineon Raceway on Tuesday in preparation for the Toyota/Save Mart 350, June 24-26.

Reutimann (No. 00 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota) completed approximately 50 laps around the 10-turn, 1.99-mile road course. Reutimann will compete in his fourth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Infineon Raceway next weekend. He posted a best finish of 20th in 2010.

“I’m not all that good at the road courses, so I’m trying to refine my skills here,” said Reutimann. “A lot of guys have been racing out here for years and have this place memorized, so this gives me a better idea of where I’m going on this tough track.”

Reutimann was joined at the test session by Lally, who will race the No. 71 entry for Petaluma-based TRG Motorsports. Lally, who has competed in Sonoma in the American Le Mans Series and Grand-Am Series, will make his first Toyota/Save Mart 350 attempt.

“I love racing here, but you’re busier here than anywhere,” said Lally. “I can see why it gets rough here with the tight corners. You have to put the power down everywhere you go.”

Ragan (No. 6 UPS “We Love Logistics” Ford) also completed a half-day test. Ragan, who is currently 16th in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points, will make his fifth Sonoma start next weekend.
