Ken Schrader to Run 10 Races for FAS Lane Racing in the Sprint Cup Series

On Monday while speaking at a trade show NASCAR Sprint Cup Series veteran Ken Schrader said he will be running 10 Sprint Cup Series races for FAS Lane Racing in the No. 32 car in the 2013 season. Schrader raced in 13 races for Frank Stoddard’s team in 2012 as he split the seat with other drivers.

The 57-year old, four-time Sprint Cup Series winner, will be competing in his 30th season but has not raced full time since 2006.

“We run 28th or 32nd most of the time, but we still have fun out there racing, well, I guess we have fun out there running around,” Schrader said. “We’re going to run 10 races next year. The only bad thing about that is that it shoots the hell out of 10 weekends that we could be out running the modified somewhere.”

FAS Lane Racing was able to keep the car in the top 35 in owners points all of 2012 even though they did not run competitively most of the time. Schrader had his best finish of 2012 at Martinsville on October 28 when he finish in 29th but did not finish on the lead lap in any of his 13 races.

Schrader also said on Monday that he plans to race the first ever NASCAR Camping World Truck Series dirt track race at Eldora Speedway in 2013. That race is scheduled for July 24. He has one win and 36 top ten finishes in 99 career Truck Series starts.
