Bobby Labonte Grills Out in Greensboro to Promote Coca-Cola 600

2000 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Bobby Labonte showed off his skill on the grill today in Greensboro, N.C., when he participated in a tour of local media outlets to promote the upcoming Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 29.

After conducting a few interviews, Labonte donned his Coca-Cola 600 apron and grilling mitts, then manned the charcoal grill and prepared lunch for the station, the media and even a few lucky contest
winners.

“During the summer months, I do a lot of grilling at home, so I hope it’s second nature to me,” Labonte quipped.

Charlotte Motor Speedway holds a special place in Labonte’s heart: the track was the site of his first career Sprint Cup victory at the Coca-Cola 600 in 1995.

“It’s just one of those places I really like going to. I’ve had great success there and always look forward to racing there,” Labonte said. “It’s a lot of fun for a lot of the drivers to go to.”
