Ragan Takes Glory Foods Ford to Thunder Valley

The orange and purple colors of Glory Foods debut on David Ragan’s No. 34 Ford Fusion this weekend as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to Bristol, Tenn. for the running of the Irwin Tools Night Race.

Ragan holds one career Nationwide Series win at Bristol, where he took home the checkered flag in 2009. In NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competition, Ragan holds a pair of top-five qualifying efforts and one career top-10 finish to his credit. He finished 23rd in the series’ April trip to Bristol, driving for Front Row Motorsports.

The No. 34 team is coming off of back-to-back top-25 finishes. The team has now finished in the top-25 nine times in 2012.

Bristol marks the first race for Glory Foods since announcing the Race To Feeding America campaign. The Feeding America logo will adorn the decklid of the No. 34 Ford.NASCAR fans can visit www.RaceToFeedingAmerica.com to donate, and also win a VIP Trip to the 2013 Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte, N.C. If Ragan, or teammate David Gilliland can make it to victory lane in October’s Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Glory Foods will donate $1 Million to Feeding America.

While Bristol has become famous for its unique driver introductions, Ragan won’t be walking out to any new top-40 hits. Instead, Ragan, who owns a Mayberry Police Cruiser in his car collection, has selected the theme song of The Andy Griffith Show as his entrance tune.

Comments From David Ragan Heading Into Bristol:

“I’m happy to be back racing at Bristol. We were able to have a solid top-25 run here in the spring. Both of our Front Row Motorsports Fords were fast last week at Michigan.   We are looking to capitalize on our recent momentum and come away with another top-25.”

“The Andy Griffith Show has always been a favorite of mine. I actually have a Mayberry Squad Car in my car collection. Sadly, we lost Andy earlier this year. I thought picking the theme song of The Andy Griffith Show as my entrance song would be a nice way to celebrate his life.”

“This is Glory Foods’ first race since announcing the Race To Feeding America campaign. I’m happy to be affiliated with such a terrific initiative. While Glory Foods is donating one-half million meals to our nation’s children, fans can further support the cause by visiting www.RaceToFeedingAmerica.com to donate and also enter to win a VIP trip to the 2013 Coca-Cola 600.”
