Marcos Ambrose will look to tame the famed “Monster Mile” and bring home his third consecutive top-10 finish at the Dover, Del., track on Sunday. Ambrose will make his eighth career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start at Dover International Speedway this weekend.
The Australian native has one top-five, two top-10 and three top-15 finishes at Dover. His best finish (third) came in last year’s spring event and his best start (12th) came in last year’s fall race. He has completed 2,616 of 2,800 laps attempted at the one-mile speedway. Ambrose enters this weekend’s 400-mile race in 20th place in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings.

Also, Ambrose’s car will have a different look this weekend as Stanley will return as the primary partner of the No. 9 Ford Fusion.
Marcos Ambrose’s Thoughts on Racing at Dover:
“I love going to Dover. It’s a track that fits my driving style and we ran really well there in both races last season. We’ve had great cars the past few weeks and I know my Stanley team will prepare a rocket ship for me this week at ‘The Monster Mile.’ We were at Dover in April testing for Goodyear, so that gave me some extra track time. I really like the concrete racetracks and I hope we can avoid having anymore bad luck and end up at the top of the leader board this weekend when it is all said and done.”
Comments from Crew Chief Todd Parrott on Going to Dover:
“We’ll have to have a good balanced Stanley Ford Fusion when we go to Dover. Last year we were fortunate to run well there in both races and it’s a track that Marcos really likes. We typically run well at Bristol, and Dover is like a big concrete Bristol. We tire tested up at ‘The Monster Mile’ for Goodyear about a month or so back, and we had a really good test session, so I’m really looking forward to going back.
“Pit road is tricky because it comes up on the driver really fast. Marcos will need to make sure he hits his marks on pit road and doesn’t miss the commitment mark. Pit road is tight and track position is everything at Dover. It’s a one-mile track and the cleaner the air is, the better the Stanley Ford will run this weekend.”
