Gilliland to Carry Special Decal at Dover

This weekend David Gilliland and the No. 38 team head into the Dover International Speedway with a special cause on top of mind. The team will carry an Autism Speaks decal on the hood of their car throughout the weekend to promote autism awareness. The team stood up and volunteered the space on the car to help bring additional awareness to Autism Speaks.

Autism Speaks was founded in February 2005 by Bob and Suzanne Wright, grandparents of a child with autism. Their longtime friend Bernie Marcus donated $25 million to help financially launch the organization. Since then, Autism Speaks has grown into the nation’s largest autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.

Gilliland, a father of two children, feels blessed to have the opportunity to represent the cause this weekend

Comments from Front Row Motorsports Driver David Gilliland Heading to Dover:

“Family is something that is very important to me. I love my wife and two children and feel extremely blessed to have them in my life. Saying that, I know it’s important to give back to people and causes that can help all families be stronger, together. That’s why it was such an easy decision for us to support Autism Speaks this weekend on our car. We didn’t have a primary sponsor for this weekend so all of us at Front Row Motorsports decided to run the decal on the hood.

“Autism Speaks and Dover International Speedway have been teaming up for such a long time now. I think it all started with Artie Kempner and FOX Sports. Artie has a golf tournament each year and over time the track has really picked up on it. We are just trying to do our part now. If we can get a few people to visit them online or learn more about Autism, we’ve made a difference with this car. That’s our goal

“Sometimes being in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and being a driver goes beyond what happens on the track. I love supporting our current sponsors ModSpace, MHP, Ford and others because they allow us to do something like this. Hopefully we can get more companies to hop on and we can continue to support causes that can make children and families stronger. It’s just something myself and this team really believe in.”
