Bell Ready to Compete in First Coca-Cola 600

T.J. Bell and FAS Lane Racing are ready to smoke the competition this week. Bell will be behind the wheel of the No. 32 Green Smoke® Ford Fusion to compete in one of NASCAR’s most demanding races, the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS).

Bell has two NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at CMS. His best performance came in 2011, when he started 31st and finished 23rd. In Camping World Truck Series competition, he has four starts with a best finish of ninth place (2007). The Reno, Nev., native looks forward to attempting his first Sprint Cup Series start at the 1.5-mile race track. He will have to qualify into the event.

As part of the Memorial Day weekend, Bell and Green Smoke® will host Jay Carey as their guest for the race festivities. Green Smoke®, working in conjunction with Bell and the HERO organization, are rewarding Carey for his 14 years of service in the USAF and US Army. Carey was wounded on duty and unable to continue his military career.

Comments from FAS Lane driver T.J. Bell heading into the Coca-Cola 600:

“I’m really excited to be attempting the Coca-Cola 600. It’s definitely one of racing’s most prestigious events and it’s an honor to be a part of it. No doubt about it, there are going to be lots of cars trying to make the field and it will be more competitive than ever. We’re going to have to really focus on our qualifying package during practice and get that dialed in. Once we get the Green Smoke® Ford in the show, we’ll convert to race trim.

“This is a crown jewel race. When drivers list all of the races that they want to win, the Coca-Cola 600 always makes the list. There’s so much history and excitement associated with it. It’s been a fan favorite for a long time, and a driver favorite, too.

“We’ll have a special guest in our pit stall this weekend. Jay Carey was a member of our armed services. He was injured on duty and couldn’t continue his career. Green Smoke® and the HERO organization are bringing him to the track. That’s what Memorial Day is all about. We’re proud to host him and hope that we brighten his day. He’s done so much for our country and it’s an honor to have him. He’s given so much to our nation and I’m glad that my team and sponsors are willing to help give him something special in return.”
