Gase Heads Back to Talladega to Pull Double Duty in the Cup & Truck Series

This weekend Gase will be pulling double duty at Talladega Superspeedway. However, this isn’t his typical double duty weekend that he’s done five previous times throughout the season. Gase will be making his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut with Copp Motorsports and finishing off the weekend in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race with StarCom Racing.

This weekend will be Gase’s fourth race with StarCom Racing in the #00 Chevrolet with one of those starts coming back in April at Talladega. Unfortunately with about 10 laps remaining in the GEICO 500 Gase was experiencing engine issues which ended their top 20 run. Despite the engine issue, he was still able to pick up seven spots and finished the race in 27th.

A few weeks ago Gase announced that Sparks Energy Inc. was teaming up with him on both his MENCS #00 and his NCWTS #83. However, you won’t see the typical black and yellow scheme with lightning bolts down the side. That’s because Sparks Energy is donating their sponsorship space to The PFK Foundation in efforts to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. On the upper quarter panels you will find a text-to-donate number (Text PFK to 243725) in which fans can donate directly to the Foundation. Also, on the deck lid and bed of the truck you will find loved ones names who have been affected by this terrible disease in some way. Gase’s last start with StarCom Racing came just a few weeks ago at Richmond Raceway in the Eternal Fan #00. Eternal Fan is jumping back on board the #00 Chevrolet this weekend as an associate sponsor on the lower quarter panels. “We are pleased to partner up with Joey and StarCom again, as they return to Talladega,” said Eternal Fan President Matt Linn. “As many race Fans know, great racing and Memories are made at ‘Dega. We look forward to a memorable weekend where many Fan Memories are talked about for years to come!”

Gase has made a total of 231 starts between the NASCAR XFINITY Series and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, but he’s never made a start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. This weekend he will get his shot with Copp Motorsports in the Fr8Auctions 250. His #83 Chevrolet Silverado will look almost identical to his Cup car with The PFK Foundation logo on the hood and the purple and pink wings extended down the side of the truck. “I’m beyond excited to get my first truck series start under my belt this weekend,” said Gase. “Not only that, but to do it for such a great cause means even more to me. What Sparks Energy Inc. is doing for The PFK Foundation is incredible. I’m so humbled to be apart of it all and it couldn’t be a better weekend to do it.”
