Busch outlasted AJ Allmendinger to win the pole.

“All around the racetrack you can get yourself into trouble,” Allmendinger said when asked on which part of the track is the most challenging.

Rounding out the top five were: Alex Bowman in third, Chase Elliott in fourth and Kyle Larson in fifth.

Twelve of the sixteen drivers competing in the playoffs did not make the final round of qualifying.

Multiple drivers made contact with the wall in practice and qualifying. Denny Hamlin had issues with his No.11 Toyota Camry as he had issues in practice as well as qualifying.
