BK Racing and Joey Gase Racng In Memory of Ava Branstetter in Kentucky

Joey Gase will return to the No. 23 Best Home Furnishings Toyota Camry next week for the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway with a very special tribute on the back of his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series racecar.

Best Home Furnishings is dedicating the rear TV panel of the car to the nonprofit organization Donate Life, and honoring the late Ava Branstetter who unexpectedly passed away at the age of six. She attended the same school as the children of a Best Home Furnishings sales representative. Her organ and tissue donations benefited scores of other individuals.

“Since Gase’s mother passed away when he was 18, he has dedicated his racing career to honoring his mother’s legacy through Donate Life,” said Brian Lange, president of Best Home Furnishings.  “To use the Best racecar as a platform for raising awareness of organ and tissue donations, and to pay tribute to Ava and her family, is a fulfilling purpose for our organizations.”

Joey Gase made his debut with BK Racing in the Daytona 500 at the beginning of this season where he finished an impressive 23rd in the wreck-filled race. Gase also competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series where he has scored four top-20 finishes and one top-10 finish so far this year.

“Joey is having a great 2017 racing season in the Xfinity series, so we are excited about having him in the No. 23 car for the Quaker State 400 in Kentucky,” said Lange.  “Finishing 23rd in the Daytona 500, he demonstrated his superb driving ability for the duration of the race, all while being a great ambassador for Best Home Furnishings throughout race week and thereafter.”

“I’m very excited to be getting behind the wheel once again in the Best Home Furnishings No. 23 car,” said Gase. “This will be my first Cup Series start at Kentucky, but in the Xfinity Series Kentucky has been one of my best mile and a half tracks. I am very thankful that Best Home Furnishings is allowing us to honor Ava and promote organ, eye, and, tissue donation. This proves how great of a family the Langes are and how great of a company Best Home Furnishings is.”

“We are very proud of Joey for his great finish in the Daytona 500, and for the work he does with Donate Life,” said Doug Fritz, BK Racing Chief Marketing Officer. “It is very touching to see Best Home Furnishings include this tribute in their paint scheme, and it is an honor for BK Racing to have Ava on the No. 23 for the Kentucky race.”
