BK Racing, Corey LaJoie Finish 11th in Daytona
Saturday night’s Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway was a wild ride to say the least. The superspeedway saw a record number of cautions, an over-time finish, and Corey LaJoie score his best career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series finish. LaJoie avoided every on-track incident, and brought his No. 23 Dr Pepper Toyota Camry home in 11th place, the best finish for BK Racing at Daytona in team history.
“The No. 23 Dr Pepper Toyota was pretty dang good tonight,” said LaJoie. “We were way better on the long runs when we could get on the outside lane or the middle lane and get our momentum up. The short runs really weren’t our friend, but we were able to take advantage of a couple of them at the end and get some track position. My crew chief, Randy Cox, called a great race and got us in good position. I learned a lot throughout the race, racing with all of the big name guys. The BK Racing guys brought a great car, and I’m excited to get back out there and race again.”
