AJ Allmendinger to visit fans at Kroger in Martinsville on Thursday, March 30th

NASCAR driver AJ Allmendinger is coming to the Martinsville Kroger to help feed the hungry and meet fans prior to racing in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway.

Allmendinger is appearing at the Kroger at the Village of Martinsville located at 240 Commonwealth Blvd W from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 30.

Last year at Martinsville Speedway, Allmendinger was runner-up, finishing only 0.663 seconds behind winner Kyle Busch.

“I’m looking forward to stopping by Kroger to meet fans and sign autographs before racing at Martinsville Speedway,” Allmendinger said. “Martinsville Speedway is a place where we’ve had some great runs.  I just love that place and we almost won there last year.  It’s fun to have Kroger on board. I am looking forward to meeting our fans and partnering with organizations in the fight against hunger.”

Two representatives of Feeding America Southwest Virginia will be in the store to go on a five-minute shopping spree with Kroger’s donating all the food to the Disaster Relief Food Ministry in Bassett.  After shopping, two Kroger associates will compete to see who can bag the groceries faster with Allmendinger providing a “play-by-play” description.

Then, Allmendinger will select one family to shop with, and Kroger will pay for the family’s groceries.  Allmendinger will begin activities at 5:30 by signing autographs and posing for photographs with fans.

His No. 47 Kroger ClickList Chevrolet showcar will be in the store’s parking lot from 2 to 6 p.m. for customers to have their photos taken and to get behind the wheel.

Live coverage of the STP 500 on Sunday, April 2nd begins at 2 PM ET on FS1, MRN and SIRIUSXM.
