Brian Scott Looking to Build Off of Momentum from Bristol

Brian Scott looked for redemption last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway following a wreck from the spring race and ultimately got it with an 18th-place finish, his second-best finish of the season. The No. 44 Twisted Tea team will be looking for the same type of redemption this weekend at Michigan International Speedway, as Scott had his day cut short at the race weekend in June due to a wreck. Scott will be making his second Sprint Cup Series start at Michigan this weekend, also running the provisional 2017 aerodynamics rules package.

Scott heads back into the Irish Hills of Michigan for his second career Sprint Cup Series start with a chip on his shoulder from finishing 36th in June. Scott also has some of his best statistics from the XFINITY Series at Michigan International Speedway. In six starts, Scott has one Top-Five, four Top-10 and six Top-20 finishes. The track is also very similarly designed to Auto Club Speedway, where Scott earned his career-high best finish in the Sprint Cup Series when he finished 12th at the race in March.
Twisted Tea will be back on the hood of the No. 44 Ford Fusion, featuring their unique yellow and blue paint scheme. Fans can meet Scott at the Eagle Point Marina & Boat Club from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27. Scott will be available for photos and autographs with fans, and will also be joined by the custom South Bay Pontoon with Mercury Marine boat.

“Last weekend at Bristol was a step in the right direction, but I know the team and I are hungry for more. Michigan has always been a good track for me in the XFINITY Series, and while the June race didn’t go our way, I’m really looking forward to getting back and seeing what our No. 44 Twisted Tea Ford Fusion can do. We ran as high as sixth when we were here earlier in the season, and I know we’ll have a car capable of staying at the front. The goal is just to try and stay out of trouble as much as possibleto be there at the end when the checkered flag waves.”
