Brian Scott Looking for Redemption at ‘The Last Great Colosseum’

The NASCAR industry is well rested from a rare off weekend, and Brian Scott is ready to head to one of the most anticipated night races of the year this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. Scott will race the No. 44 Medallion Financial, JACOB Companies Ford under the lights for 500 laps, looking for redemption from the spring race in which the team finished 30th following a late-race spin and contact with the wall.

Scott will be making his second career Sprint Cup Series start this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. While the spring daytime race did not end in Scott’s favor, he has found success in the XFINITY Series at the half-mile short track. With 13 starts, five Top-10 finishes and eight Top-15 finishes in the XFINITY Series – as well as one Top-Five finish in the Camping World Truck Series – the No. 44 team is ready to test their patience at one of NASCAR’s shortest tracks.

“I’m really excited to be heading back to Bristol for some short-track night racing this weekend. It was a great off weekend, but I know I’m ready to go back racing, and what better way to get back on track than with a short track race under the lights. While the spring race may not have been what we were expecting, we have some good notes that we learned that weekend to bring with us. Bristol is a track that can really test your patience, with a lot of beating and banging on the cars combined with the banking in the turns and high speeds. I’ve had some success at Bristol in the past, but I’m certainly looking forward to getting in the No. 44 Medallion Financial, JACOB Companies Ford Fusion and seeing what kind of speed we can find off the truck that can get us to the front.”
