Brian Scott and the No. 44 Team Switch Gears to Short Track Racing

As NASCAR returns to short-track racing this weekend in Bristol, Brian Scott and the No. 44 Ford will be “Back in Black”. The No. 44 Ford Fusion will have a unique black and “Petty Blue” paint scheme, representing Shore Lodge. Scott is coming off of a 27th-place finish at Texas, when a late-race wreck caused damage to the front end and right side of the car, causing Scott to pit three times in the final 40 laps of the race.

Scott will head to a familiar track this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, where he has found success in the XFINITY Series. Bristol is another new track for Scott in the Cup Series, where he will make his first start this weekend. However, with 13 starts, five Top-10 finishes and eight Top-15 finishes in the XFINITY Series – as well as one Top-Five finish in the Camping World Truck Series – the No. 44 team is ready to test their patience at one of NASCAR’s shortest tracks.
The No. 44 Shore Lodge Ford Fusion will feature a unique black and Petty Blue paint scheme this weekend, paying homage to the iconic black walls at Bristol Motor Speedway. Shore Lodge will be featured as a primary sponsor for the first time in the 2016 season. Shore Lodge is the quintessential Idaho lodging experience located in McCall, Idaho, featuring a myriad of outdoor activities and amenities for guests.
“I’m really excited to be heading to Bristol this weekend. While the start of this season may not have been what we were expecting, each weekend we keep learning more things to improve on and new ways that we can make our car faster. Bristol is a track that can really test your patience, with a lot of beating and banging on the cars. Add to that the speed that you can hit at Bristol with the banking and you’ve got a really interesting race on your hands. I’ve had some success at Bristol in the past, but I’m certainly looking forward to getting in the No. 44 Shore Lodge Ford Fusion and seeing what kind of speed we can find off the truck that can get us to the front.”
