Austin Dillon Rallies to a Strong Ninth-Place Finish at Phoenix International Raceway
“We ran about 10th all day. At the end there, Slugger (Labbe, crew chief) made the call to stay out. It was a gutsy call, but it worked. A couple of cars spun their tires on the final restart for the Green-White-Checkered, and we went three-wide for position. We ended up ninth, but I’m glad we could pick up another position before the end of the race. I think maybe we could have had another spot or two but just ran out of time. It was a fun race. I’m looking forward to this season with the Dow team. That was fun right there.”

Tire Issue Causes Early Finish for Paul Menard and the No. 27 Richmond / Menards Chevy at Phoenix International Raceway
“We fired off pretty decent and started getting really tight at the end. It felt like a left-front tire blew or something going into Turn 3. The track is hotter than it was yesterday. It was pretty slippery. I was having a lot of fun before we got into the wall. I have to thank my guys for all their hard work this week as usual.”

Tire Issue Ends Day Early for Driver Ryan Newman and the Grainger Racing Team
“We just blew a right-front tire. It must have melted the bead or something. I don’t know if something failed in the cooling department or what the deal was. I didn’t do anything any different than I’ve ever done here before. Just definitely blew a right-front tire out and that was the end of our day with the Grainger Chevrolet.”
