Biffle Rebounds from Pit Road Penalty to Finish 20th in Vegas

Greg Biffle rebounded from a pit road penalty and being two laps down to earn a lead-lap 20th-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  Biffle started the race 26th in the No. 16 Cheez-it Ford and despite some setbacks on the track persevered to finish on the lead lap.

The No. 16 started off a little loose but on long green flag runs with the cars spread out on the track, it was handling pretty well and Biffle was making up ground.  Tires were an issue for a few competitors today and Biffle was one of them.  Two different sets caused major vibrations and cost Biffle valuable time on the track.

Biffle was running just outside the top 10 before coming down pit road for a green flag stop when he was caught speeding in section one of pit road.  Biffle served a pass-through penalty which put him a lap down to the leaders.

The team took the “wave around” to get back on the lead lap and then on lap 213 while pitting for four tires and fuel the yellow came out.  Biffle was considered the “lucky dog” recipient and got to remain on the lead lap.  The No. 16 sustained some minor damage in the final caution of the day, but the team was able to adjust the body on pit road and keep Biffle on the lead lap to earn a 20th-place finish.
