Richard Petty Motorsports and Cheney Brothers Partner for Season Finale

Richard Petty Motorsports is partnering with Cheney Brothers, a leading food distributor in the Southeast, to help feed their need for speed. Cheney Brothers will serve as the primary sponsor of the No. 9 Richard Petty Motorsports Ford and driver Sam Hornish, Jr. at NASCAR’s final race of the 2015 season.

The partnership with Richard Petty Motorsports will allow Cheney Brothers to be a part of NASCAR’s most exciting evening, when a champion is crowned.  Cheney Brothers will have their logos adorn the hood, sides and rear of the No. 9 car throughout the weekend at the Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway, culminating Sunday’s final race of the season.

For over 25 years, Smithfield Foods and Cheney Brothers have enjoyed a winning partnership off the track, serving customers around the world.  This is the second consecutive year that Cheney Brothers will partner with Richard Petty Motorsports at Homestead.

“Cheney Brothers has long been a leader in foodservice distribution,” added Chuck Gitkin, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Smithfield Foods.  “We are proud of our longstanding partnership with Cheney Brothers, and we are excited to join forces with them and Richard Petty Motorsports again, for what promises to be an unforgettable night of racing.”

Sam Hornish, Jr., an Indianapolis 500 winner and three-time IndyCar Champion, will be racing for his first win in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. He wants nothing more than to do it with Cheney Brothers in their home state.

“The atmosphere at Miami for the season finale is electric,” said Hornish.  “Any time you can share that with a partner is something pretty special.  We want to end our season with a win and I want to do that with Cheney Brothers on our car.”

This race at Homestead-Miami Speedway will be televised nationally, live on NBC on Sunday, November 22.
