Almirola and No. 43 Eckrich Team Hope to Spoil Chase with a Win

Despite narrowly missing the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Aric Almirola and the No. 43 Eckrich Ford team hope to spoil the Chase with a win in the final 10 races. This weekend at Chicagoland Speedway is the perfect start. Last season, Almirola and team showed speed, competed in the Top-Five and looked to contend for a win, but it wasn’t in the cards. With just 30 laps remaining, the engine expired and ended the team’s day early. The team hopes to show that same speed and contend for the win this weekend.

Almirola has just three Sprint Cup Series starts at Chicagoland Speedway. He scored his best finish of 13th in 2013. He made four XFINITY Series starts at the 1.5-mile track and tallied one pole and two fourth-place finishes. In his two Truck Series starts, he scored two Top-10 finishes.

Almirola will join Eckrich and Victory Junction to make a life-changing surprise to a military family in the media center Friday, September 18 at 10:30 a.m.

“We’re disappointed that we missed the Chase, but our season isn’t over yet. We’re still focused on getting a win and will fight for the best points spot we can get. We’ve been consistent this year and just need a little more speed to be able to compete for wins. That’s our goal in the last 10 races. We want to win and spoil the Chase. Last year, we had a really good car at Chicago but had an engine failure. Hopefully, we can find that same speed this year and compete for a win.

“I’m excited to join Eckrich and Victory Junction on Friday to surprise a military family. Military families sacrifice so much for us all year, so it is special for me to have a small part in giving back.”
