Brian Scott Finishes 22nd at Richmond

In only his 14th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start, Brian Scott and the No. 33 Shore Lodge Chevrolet team finished 22nd at Richmond International Raceway in the Federated Auto Parts 400. The Boise, Idaho native started the 400-lap affair in the 17th position and battled his way into the top 15 in the early going. After the competition caution on lap 37 and an adjustment on pit road, the Shore Lodge Chevrolet lost drive-off the corners and developed a loose-handling condition. The team reversed the changes from the first stop on the lap 99 caution. Scott battled in and around the 20th position fighting a lack of rear grip. On lap 185 Scott fell one lap down to the leader. After a long green-flag run, a debris caution was delivered on lap 209 allowing the No. 33 team to make an air pressure adjustment to help manage right-rear grip. At the lap 260 mark, Scott was once again caught by the race leader and fell a second lap down. With one additional visit to pit road with less than 25 laps remaining, the team made an air pressure adjustment to secure grip in the closing laps. The No. 33 entry fell one additional lap to the leader before the checkered flag flew bringing home a 22nd-place finish.
