ARCA: Trevor Bayne to Pilot Cunningham Motorsports No. 22 Ford at Pocono

Cunningham Motorsports announced that Trevor Bayne will pilot the No. 22 AdvoCare Ford in the ARCA Racing Series event at the Pocono Raceway on June 6.

The event will be the first ARCA Racing Series race for Bayne as he came through the ranks via the NASCAR K&N Pro Series. The race will allow Bayne to learn the track as the NASCAR XFINITY Series does not make a stop there.

“We are excited to have the chance to race with a Daytona 500 winner,” said Cunningham co-owner, Kerry Scherer in a release.  “We also appreciate the confidence Roush Fenway has shown in us to give Trevor the equipment and support to win the race.”

Serving as the crew chief for Trevor Bayne will be Paul Andrews. If you have followed NASCAR since the early 90’s you have probably heard the name before. Andrews led Alan Kulwicki to a Sprint Cup Series championship in 1992.

Bayne comes into the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season in his first full-time ride. He has around 60 career starts in the series, including a victory in 2011 at the Daytona International Speedway in the Daytona 500. The win came in his Sprint Cup Series debut.
