Newtown Building Supplies Returns to Hillman Racing for 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Season

With the three-race West Coast swing in the books – capped off by a pair of lead-lap,  top-25 finishes the past two races – NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Landon Cassill is looking to carry that momentum into this weekend’s race at Martinsville Speedway.  Cassill will pilot the No. 40 Newtown Building Supplies Chevrolet SS in Sunday afternoon’s STP 500, the first in a multi-race partnership this season with Hillman Racing and the No. 40 entry.

To kick off the extension of a partnership that started in 2014, Cassill was the guest speaker at the Tidewater Council Boy Scouts of America Leadership Breakfast on Wednesday in Virginia Beach, Va., presented by Newtown Building Supplies.  Cassill was on hand at the annual fundraising effort that provides scouting programs to the Mid-Atlantic region.  To commemorate the successful event, which netted the most donations in its history, the Tidewater Council Boy Scouts emblem with adorn the c-post of Cassill’s No. 40 Newtown Building Supplies car this weekend.

“I had the pleasure of speaking in front of the Tidewater Council Boy Scouts this week, an area group with more than 6,000 youth members, and we raised nearly $100,000 to support local scouting programs,” said Cassill.  “Jimmy Rogers and Newtown Building Supplies helped put on the event and having them on the race car this weekend is a great way of following up on such a great initiative.  Martinsville is a great race weekend to represent a Virginia-based company like NBS and we’re excited to bring the Boy Scouts along for the ride.”

“Having Landon speak at our local Boy Scouts event earlier this week was a great start to our NASCAR team partnership of Hillman Racing in 2015,” stated D.J. “Jimmy” Rogers, president and principal owner of Newtown Building Supplies.  “All of us at Newtown Building Supplies cheered Landon on to his 19th-place finish at Martinsville Speedway last fall and we’re excited to have that opportunity again this weekend in our home state of Virginia.  We’re proud to be associated with Landon Cassill and Hillman Racing, and we’re looking forward to big things on and off the race track this year.”

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series STP 500 will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1 from Martinsville Speedway on Sunday, March 29,with pre-race coverage beginning at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
