Stenhouse Drives Zest Ford to a 24th-Place Finish at Charlotte

In the backyard of Roush Fenway Racing, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. drove his Zest Ford Fusion to a 24th-place finish in Saturday night’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

“We struggled with the handling tonight,” Stenhouse said. “I’m not sure what we missed but we will go back and look at everything. We have to keep working as an organization on our cars to get us competitive.”

At the same track where he got his first career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start in 2011, the two-time NASCAR Nationwide champion qualified in the 28th-starting position and maneuvered his Zest Ford up inside the top-25 but fell back gradually as the handling went away early in the 334-lap race.

When the final caution was displayed setting up the final green-white-checkered finish, crew chief Mike Kelley brought the No. 17 Zest Ford to pit-road for two tires in hopes to pass the remaining cars that were three laps down. Stenhouse was able to maintain his position on the final restart taking the checkered flag in the 24th position.
