Biffle finishes 16th at Pocono

Biffle had his sights on a solid top-10 finish at Pocono until the leader, of what would be the final restart of the race, had engine problems at the front of the field.  The ailing car created quite the melee on the track and Biffle lost valuable track position.  Despite so few laps left in the race, Biffle was able to make up a few spots to earn a 16th-place finish at Pocono in his No. 16 3M Ford Fusion.

Biffle qualified his No. 16 3M Ford 13th for 400-miles at Pocono, but steadily lost positions on the track while struggling with a lack of grip.  The team took big adjustment swings in the first two pit stops of the race, which made a huge difference in the handling of Biffle’s Ford.

Biffle narrowly avoided being part of a caution on lap 141, but did collect some debris from the incident involving the No. 5 and No. 99.  Luckily Biffle was able to wiggle free the debris lodged on the front of his car and didn’t have to pit for any repairs, maintaining his 14th-place position on the track.

The final restart came with 12 laps remaining and Biffle just outside the top 10, but as the field returned to green the leader lost his engine and had nowhere to go in front of the field.  As competitors scrambled, so did Biffle, but lost a few positions in the mix.  Biffle rallied back for a 16th-place finish at Pocono.
