Newtown Building Supplies Expands NASCAR Sponsorship of Cassill

Newtown Building Supplies, Inc. (NBS), a premier source for windows, doors, siding and installation in Hampton Roads, Va., is establishing an eight-race NASCAR Sprint Cup Series partnership with Circle Sport-Hillman Racing and team owners Joe Falk and Mike Hillman that includes primary sponsorship of two cars at  Richmond International Raceway in the fall.  The announcement was made by NASCAR driver Landon Cassill, NBS owner D.J. “Jimmy” Rogers and Falk at NBS’ Virginia Beach headquarters Thursday afternoon in front of employees, key stakeholders, and local media and dignitaries.

The partnership will feature primary sponsorship of Hillman’s Racing No. 40 Chevrolet SS driven by Cassill, the 24-year- old Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native, for eight additional races and the No. 33 Circle Sport Chevrolet SS for the September Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway.  NBS made its NASCAR debut on the No. 33 Circle Sport Chevrolet at Richmond in April with driver David Stremme and further expanded the partnership with Cassill last weekend at Dover International Speedway.

“I have watched Landon in his race car and spent time with him outside of it,” said Rogers. “He is an outstanding young man and will be a great representative for our company as we expand into providing doors, window and siding to residential customers. I look forward to a great partnership between Newtown Building Supplies and Circle Sport-Hillman Racing.”

“What started out as a one-race test program at Richmond in April has quickly developed into a 10-race partnership,” said Landon Cassill, who last month posted a Sprint Cup Series career-best 11th-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway.  “It’s very rewarding because as an organization we’ve been fortunate to align ourselves with the kinds of companies that are willing to expand their participation in the sport.  Jimmy Rogers immediately saw the power of NASCAR and how it can help grow a business with local roots in a sport with national reach.  I’m looking forward to the next eight races with NBS and representing them on and off the race track.”
