Bayne Highlights NHMS Governor’s Breakfast

The 2011 Daytona 500 Champion Trevor Bayne is set to be this year’s key-note speaker at the 19th annual New Hampshire Motor Speedway  Governors Breakfast on Friday, July 15.

Driver of the No. 16 Roush Fenway Racing Ford in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Bayne launched his way into stardom by winning this year’s Daytona 500. The 20 year old also drives part-time for the veteran Sprint Cup Series team Wood Brothers Racing.

After a whirlwind start to his 2011 season, Bayne was sidelined in mid-April for an inflammatory condition. He returned to racing after five weeks recuperating during the NASCAR Nationwide Series race in Chicago on June 4.

“I am honored to be a part of this year’s event,” said Bayne. “It is important that we provide adequate care for our children and their families, so they can lead healthy and happy lifestyles. I am looking forward to lending a helping hand to those in need.”

Joining Bayne will be long-time television broadcaster Dick Berggren, and Sprint Cup Series driver and Connecticut native Joey Logano. The duo will hold a question-and-answer session for all attendees.

The New Hampshire chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities partners with CHaD and David’s House to host the annual breakfast. Last year the event rose over $100,000 for CHaD and David’s House. The organization provides a home-away-from-home and support for families with children receiving treatment through Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD) in Lebanon, N.H. Since opening its doors in 1986, David’s House has served over 11,000 families from around the world.
