TrackingPoint™ Pulls Trigger on NASCAR Sponsorship With Primary Sponsorship of No. 95 Scott Speed at NRA 500

TrackingPoint™, creator of the world’s first Precision Guided Firearm (PGF) system, today announced it has become primary sponsor of Leavine Family Racing’s No. 95 TrackingPoint Ford at this year’s NASCAR NRA 500, taking place Saturday, April 13 at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. Driven by veteran Scott Speed, the No. 95 car will compete in a race that is expected to generate some of the fastest speeds of the Sprint Cup Series season.

Leavine Family Racing (LFR), headquartered in Tyler, Texas and owned by Bob and Sharon Leavine, has participated in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series since 2011. The 2013 NRA 500 marks the two-year anniversary of where it began for the team, having raced in the Samsung Mobile 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway on April 9, 2011.

“Leavine Family Racing welcomes TrackingPoint as a first-time sponsor for us,” Bob Leavine said. “This sponsorship supports a Texas race team. We want to raise awareness of Texas as a high-tech business state that supports not only NASCAR but top-tier and responsible firearm production.”

“TrackingPoint is proud to sponsor Scott Speed in the No. 95 TrackingPoint Ford for the NRA 500,” said Jason Schauble, president of TrackingPoint. “As a Texas-based applied technology company that manufactures Precision Guided Firearms with cutting-edge jet fighter ‘lock and launch’ technology, the NRA 500 and NASCAR are perfect partners for us, given their reputations as the leaders in Second Amendment protection and performance racing, respectively. We wish Scott and the LFR team the best of luck.”

No. 95 driver Scott Speed joined the NASCAR circuit in 2008. He scored his first career Top 10 finish in NASCAR in just his second race, and won Rookie of the Race honors at the Daytona 500 in 2009. Formerly a Formula 1 driver, Speed competed in the 2006 Bahrain Grand Prix, becoming the first American to race in F1 since Michael Andretti in 1993.

“We have a lot of great partners for our trip to Texas,” Speed said. “It’s important for us to make the experience memorable for all of them. We always bring our best car and our best strategy to every race, but we all put a little extra effort into Texas. The best way to show our appreciation is with a solid, lead-lap finish.”

The NRA 500 is the seventh stop in the 2013 Sprint Cup Series. The nighttime race was won last year by Greg Biffle with an average speed of 160.577 mph, a race record. Texas Motor Speedway features a grandstand capacity of over 122,000, and total estimated capacity of over 191,000.

The NRA 500 will be broadcast live on FOX, Saturday, April 13 at 7:30 PM EDT.
