GEICO Racing Team Ready to Compete at Auto Club Speedway in #NASCARGoesWest Finale

Weekend Notes

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series teams are heading to Auto Club Speedway (ACS) in Fontana, Calif., for the final race of #NASCARGoesWest. After races in Las Vegas and the Phoenix desert, three weeks of West Coast travel will culminate in the 400-mile race at the California intermediate track on Sunday. The annual West Coast swing has become a premier portion of NASCAR’s 36-race schedule.

Like many tracks in the first half of the season, this will be the first time that NASCAR’s new rules package will be run at ACS. The Germain Racing team worked diligently through the off season to implement the new aerodynamic features on their No.13 GEICO Camaro ZL1. Coming off a 15th-place finish at ISM Raceway and the third consecutive week of advancing to Round 2 in qualifying, the GEICO Racing team is excited to get to California to show off the speed in their race car.

Dillon Weekend Chatter
What are your thoughts as the team prepares to run the new rules package at Auto Club Speedway?
“I think Fontana is going to be a fantastic race. None of us know what to expect. It has massive tire wear, but it is a big enough track to kind of keep the pack really tight. You could probably go seven-wide in the corners there if you wanted to. The racing groove is so wide. I know that our team is excited to get the GEICO Camaro ZL1 out there. This season is going to bring a lot of fun, exciting races that I think fans are really going to enjoy.”
